IWE/IWT Course Faculty of Mechanical Engineering
The course for international welding engineers and technologists is organized by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade, as the authorized body for welding education in Serbia.
About us
The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade, has been the authorized body for welding education in Serbia since 2016. The IWE/IWT course for international welding engineers and technologists is delivered according to the International Institute of Welding, IIW, program (Doc. IAB-001r12-23, Doc. IAB-252r5-19) and is part of the international system for education, qualification, and certification of welding personnel.
After successful course completion and exams, candidates receive the IWE/IWT diploma, recognized worldwide. It is also possible to obtain the European EWE/EWT diploma upon request.
Course program
The IWE/IWT course program covers the following areas:
- Welding processes and equipment
- Materials and their behavior during welding
- Design and calculations
- Production and applied engineering
- Final project
About the IWE/IWT program
The total number of classes for international welding engineers is 448, of which 388 are planned for theoretical lectures and 60 for practical training. For international welding technologists, the total number of classes is 369 (309+60). The theoretical part of the course is organized at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade, while practical sessions are held at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the company Messer Tehnogas-Castolin Eutectic, and the IBR laboratory of Konmat Belgrade.
Candidates receive all required literature for attending the course at the beginning of the program. After each listed area, an exam is taken, both written and oral.
Classes are held three days a week: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, starting at 9 AM, at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade.
